How do you prioritise employee wellbeing during periods of uncertainty?
Take a breath. Drop your shoulders. Unclench your jaw.
Do you find yourself – right now – juggling everyday aspects of employee wellbeing alongside the stress of supporting your entire workforce through the unpredictable nature of the world around us?
From personal trauma to job uncertainty.
From makeshift home-office ergonomics to a new, blurred, work-life balance.
As we continue to process the last few years of unprecedented levels of trauma and uncertainty, it has become increasingly apparent that many people are still struggling, still healing. With reported levels of workplace stress continuing to rise, this is your time to step in and support your staff to ensure that they don’t resort to unhelpful coping strategies, leading to chronic fatigue and burnout (and ultimately, higher levels of presenteeism and absenteeism).
Take a breath. Remember that you’re going through that same process too.
Mental Health First Aiders, especially in the current remote environment, should be at the top of your employee wellbeing strategy. Right up there with their physical counterparts.
The good news is that for every Mental Health First Aider you train within your business, you have one more point of support for your employees.
This means it doesn’t have to fall entirely on your shoulders.
Invest in employee mental health training so you can build a strong foundation of support for wellbeing in the workplace – wherever the workplace actually is right now.

This course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you:
- An in-depth understanding of mental health and factors that affect wellbeing.
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues.
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress.
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening.
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix.
Format:
- Two-day when face-to-face, or online across four manageable live sessions.
- Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities.
- Each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid ALGEE action plan.
- Each course holds up to 16 people, ensuring that the instructor can keep people safe and supported while they learn.
- For the duration of this course, you will have an instructor on hand to support you through this learning experience.
Takeaways:
- A certificate of attendance, certifying each attendee as a Mental Health First Aider (valid for 3 years*)
- Access to our online learning platform, providing 3 years of CPD
- Access to the new MHFAider Support App, packed full of guidance, tips and signposting options
- A brightly coloured MHFA lanyard and quick reference card for the Mental Health First Aid ALGEE action plan

* MHFA England follow the same quality framework as you would expect from a physical first aid certification. Therefore, your certification remains valid for three years following the completion of your training. After this point, it is recommended you complete a half-day MHFA refresher course to keep your skills up-to-date. Learn more about our Mental Health First Aider Refresher course.
